Salalah Rotana appoints new executive chef

Salalah Rotana Resort, a luxurious retreat in Oman, has welcomed culinary veteran Simon Sperling as its new executive chef.

Sperling joins the team with three decades worth of knowledge and experience. His new position entails overseeing daily operations at the resorts range of dining outlets, catering operations and ensuring customer food satisfaction while supervising a team of over 60 chefs and stewards. 

Sperling completed his Master’s degree study in Heidelberg, Germany and began his professional career in 1984. His passion, hard work and dedication propelled him to the position of executive chef and earned him and number of accolades along the way including leading the certification of world renowned sustainability label; Green Globe Certification during his stint in Kuwait.

Over the years, chef Sperling has attained remarkable international experience, working within the hotel and cruise industries across different countries including Germany, Switzerland, Bermuda, Philippines, China, Malaysia, Cyprus, Mauritius, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait. An advocate of healthy eating, and a social media enthusiast, chef Sperling, has attracted a significant following on his social media pages by sharing photos of his culinary journey across four continents resulting in over 30,000 followers.
