Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche, a leading hotel in the UAE capital, has welcomed Kim Gates as the new executive chef.

Bringing over 30 years’ experience with leading hotel chains across Australia, Republic of Vanuatu, Maldives and Russia (Sochi and Moscow), Gates will oversee a team of 52 chefs  as well as supervise Thai Silk & Spice, Grills @ Chill’O, French bakery corner and Le Café lobby lounge.

Gates will also oversee room service and banquet facilities for 10 to 1,000 guests.

Commenting on his appointment, Gates said: “At the present we are working on new restaurant menus and concepts and Unique Outside Catering, which will be launched this spring.”

Prior to his appointment he was part of the pre-opening team of Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa resort. – TradeArabia News Service
