ACWA Power Co has announced its entry into China after securing more than 1 gigawatt (GW) of renewable energy projects, according to a stock exchange disclosure.
The company said it received a notification from ACWA Power China on December 29, 2025, confirming the execution of multiple share purchase agreements for the acquisition of wind power projects in China.
The portfolio comprises one operational wind power project with a capacity of 250 megawatts (MW) and four projects under construction with a combined capacity of 1,000 MW. The handover of the under-construction projects is conditional upon their completion and commencement of commercial operations.
ACWA Power did not disclose the transaction value or the size of its equity stakes in the projects.
In January, the company had announced its entry into the Chinese market with a 1 GW renewable energy project development portfolio as part of its China Strategy, aimed at expanding its presence in the country. ACWA Power has said it plans to triple its assets under management globally to around $250 billion by 2030.
