KEC International, a global infrastructure engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) major, has announced the successful completion and energisation of a 380 kV double circuit overhead transmission line between Haden PV BSP and TEG BSP in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
A flagship company of the RPG Group, one of India’s leading business conglomerates, the KEC International has a presence in the verticals of power transmission and distribution, civil, transportation, renewables, oil and gas pipelines and cables and conductors. It has a footprint in 110+ countries (includes EPC, supply of towers and cables).
On the key Saudi project, the Indian group said spanning 103 km with 239 towers, this was among the most challenging transmission line projects in the region.
Mountainous stretches, volcanic rock formations, hard rock foundations, complex crossings, and altitude corrections up to 1,600m demanded precise planning and disciplined execution, the company stated in its LinkedIn post.
This comes close on the heels of its contract win in Saudi Arabia last October when its snapped up an order worth Rs10.38 billion ($118 million) for a 380kV GIS substation.
This was KEC International's largest-ever substation order under which it will provide the design as well supply materials for the project and will also be responsible for its installation in the kingdom.-TradeArabia News Service
