Saudi Arabia plans to deliver more than 300,000 new housing units in Riyadh over the next three years, Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majed Al-Hogail said on Sunday, underscoring the Kingdom’s push to balance supply and demand in its real estate market.

Speaking at the opening of the fifth Real Estate Future Forum (RFF 2026), Al-Hogail said the capital’s housing pipeline is part of a broader strategy to promote stability, efficiency and fairness in the sector.

The minister, who also chairs the Real Estate General Authority, said the Kingdom has already delivered over 300,000 housing units across 16 cities by the end of 2025, helping lift homeownership among Saudi families from 47% in 2016 to more than 66%, said a Saudi Press Agency report.

He added that housing support programmes have benefited more than one million people.

Al-Hogail said regulatory reforms, including the implementation of a framework governing non-Saudi property ownership, have enhanced the market’s attractiveness while supporting long-term sustainability.

He said the real estate sector is moving into a more mature phase, supported by regulatory, financial and digital reforms that strengthen its role in the national economy.
