Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources had issued a total of 201 new mining licences in December last year as part of its efforts to develop the mining sector and enhance its contribution to diversifying the kingdom’s national economy, reported SPA, citing its spokesperson.
The newly issued licences included 159 exploration licenses, 20 mining and small-scale mine exploitation licences, 18 building materials quarry licenses, two reconnaissance licenses, and two surplus mineral ore licenses, stated Jarrah Al Jarrah.
The total number of valid mining licenses reached 2,925 by the end of December, he added.
