Global engineering and professional services firm WSP has announced that it has signed an agreement with Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (Modon) to help develop its carbon neutrality strategy, a defining step towards achieving net-zero across its industrial cities, in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s national climate ambitions.
As per the deal, WSP will leverage its global expertise in sustainability, climate strategy, and energy transition to support Modon in delivering one of the kingdom’s most impactful decarbonisation initiatives.
The strategy will establish a clear and structured pathway toward carbon neutrality, while accelerating progress toward Saudi Arabia’s net-zero targets, it stated.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Eng. Majed Al Argoubi, the CEO of Modon, alongside Kathleen McGrail, Global Lead & Middle East Managing Director for Advisory at WSP, and members of both companies.
"WSP will support Modon in advancing one of the kingdom’s most impactful decarbonisation initiatives, laying the foundation for a clear pathway to carbon neutrality and accelerating progress towards Saudi Arabia’s net-zero target," said a company spokesman.
"This reflects Modon’s commitment to Vision 2030 and the Kingdom’s sustainability agenda. We are proud to contribute to shaping a resilient, low-carbon future for Saudi Arabia," he added.
