Alparslan Bayraktar, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, discussed potential cooperation opportunities with Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), within the scope of the COP31 climate conference which Turkey is hosting later this year.
According to the Turkish Anadolu Agency, Bayraktar stated that Türkiye wants to position itself as one of the strongest actors in the global energy transition process through energy investments and the 2053 Net Zero Emissions target.
He noted that he discussed opportunities for cooperation with the IEA within
the scope of COP31, which Türkiye will host in November, reported BNA.
