Mozambique has launched a new digitally enabled e-Visa system as part of its broader government agenda to modernise borders, enhance efficiency and transparency, and support growing tourism and investment.
Powered by VFS Global, the secure online platform uses advanced automation, cloud-based infrastructure, and secure data processing to streamline visa applications for travellers from 183 countries.
The unified system covers multiple visa and ETA categories, including Tourist, Business, Crew Transhipment, Sports and Culture, Humanitarian Assistance, and Oil and Gas, with validity ranging from short-term stays to visas of up to two years.
Applicants complete a simple four-step online process—submitting documents, paying fees, and receiving pre-approved e-Visas by email before departure—ensuring faster processing and smoother entry at immigration.
Designed for convenience, the platform features intuitive navigation, automated passport data extraction, an integrated photo editor, secure online payments, and 24/7 multilingual customer support.
It is fully accessible across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices.
Built on scalable cloud architecture with advanced cybersecurity protections, the system ensures high performance and data privacy compliance. While VFS Global manages administrative processes, the Government of Mozambique retains full authority over all visa decisions.
Jiten Vyas, Chief
Commercial Officer of VFS Global, said, “We are privileged to partner with the Government of Mozambique on
this important digital transformation initiative, which reflects a shared
commitment to facilitating secure and efficient global mobility. The newly
upgraded platform integrates modern digital capabilities, representing an
important digital gateway for travellers, businesses and investors, reinforcing
Mozambique’s commitment to welcoming the world through secure, efficient and
technology‑driven mobility solutions. As part of its implementation, the e‑Visa project
supports local employment and capacity, thereby contributing to skills
development and job creation in the country.” -TradeArabia News Service
