OEG has been awarded a new multi-million-pound contract by Ørsted to provide statutory inspection services across the renewable energy company’s UK offshore wind portfolio.
The agreement, secured through a
competitive tender process, has an initial term of five years and includes
options for two additional two-year extensions.
The contract will be delivered by
OEG’s offshore wind topside services team and marks a significant expansion of
the company’s long-standing partnership with Ørsted.
OEG has supported Ørsted’s UK
offshore wind operations for more than a decade, providing service, maintenance
and repair solutions across its assets.
Ørsted currently operates 12
offshore wind farms in the UK with a combined capacity of 5.6 GW, generating
enough renewable electricity to power nearly six million homes annually.
The latest award builds on
framework agreements secured by OEG in 2016 and 2021, reinforcing the company’s
position as a trusted service provider.
Around 50 personnel will be
deployed under the contract, with additional technicians and apprentices set to
be recruited to support delivery and strengthen skills development within the
UK energy sector.
Billy Hamilton, OEG Topside
Director, said:“This latest award reinforces OEG’s standing as a trusted
long-term partner to the global offshore wind leader. Securing this framework
for a third consecutive time in the UK is a strong endorsement of our expertise
and the value we deliver to Ørsted’s operations. Our topsides team brings deep
technical knowledge and a proven ability to execute critical inspection and
maintenance services safely and efficiently.
He added: “Equally important,
this award allows us to invest in people retaining essential skills, creating
new opportunities and developing the next generation of offshore wind talent
needed to support the UK’s growing sector.” -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
