The King Khalid University Medical City has organised its first scientific forum on infection control in collaboration with the Public Health Authority (PHA), drawing more than 500 participants.

The forum addressed key challenges facing infection control departments in healthcare facilities, including preventing and curbing the spread of infections, improving patient and staff safety, and reducing healthcare-associated infections, a Saudi Press Agency report said.

It also held five interactive workshops with practical exercises and discussions to build the skills of healthcare and administrative staff in applying infection control procedures.

The forum is part of the medical city's efforts to support continuous professional development and a culture of prevention and safety, in line with the kingdom's healthcare transformation goals.—TradeArabia News Service
