The fourth edition of the Al Ashkhara Tourism Forum will run from July 22 to August 15, 2026 in Al Ashkhara, South A'Sharqiyah Governorate, highlighting Omani heritage while promoting tourism, innovation and economic development.
Organised by the Office of the Governor of South
A'Sharqiyah, the forum has transformed the coastal destination into a major
attraction by combining natural and cultural assets with community
participation, reported Oman News Agency.
Positioned as a national platform celebrating Omani
identity, the event also supports entrepreneurship, local businesses and
sustainable tourism.
The previous edition attracted more than 430,000 visitors,
featured 120 events, and created 125 direct and 46 indirect jobs.
It also involved 27 small and medium enterprises, 20 local
business households and 31 craftsmen, reinforcing its role in promoting
national products and empowering local communities.
Organisers expect this year's edition to further strengthen
the region's tourism appeal and contribute to sustainable economic growth.
