Ampo Poyam Valves wins supply contract for Aramco project

Leading Spanish group Ampo Poyam Valves said it has been selected to supply 180 highly engineered large-size gate valves, including 148 cryogenic service gate valves, for the Riyas natural gas liquids (NGL) Fractionation Trains project in Saudi Arabia.

A major project of Saudi oil giant Aramco, the Riyas NGL facility is under development in Jubail, Eastern Province, as part of the second phase of the Jafurah unconventional gas field development, which is considered the largest unconventional gas field in the Middle East.

The project forms a key component of Aramco’s strategy to expand its natural gas production and processing capabilities and diversify the kingdom’s energy portfolio. The development of the facility is also expected to support the broader growth of Saudi Arabia’s gas and downstream industries.

Once operational, the facility will process natural gas liquids received from the Jafurah field through two parallel fractionation trains, each designed with a capacity of 255,000 barrels per day (BPD).

The project scope includes the development of fractionation, treatment, dehydration, and refrigeration units to produce key NGL products, including ethane, propane, butane, and pentane, said a statement from Ampo Poyam Valves.

A world leader in highly engineered large-sized valves based in Idiazabal, Spain, Ampo Poyam Valves is focused on consultancy, design, manufacturing, commissioning and comprehensive maintenance of fluid handling engineering solutions, across multiple sectors.

The engineering, procurement and construction work is being handled by Técnicas Reunidas, a leading Spanish engineering and construction company.

Under this deal, Ampo Poyam Valves will deliver for the project a total of 148 cryogenic service gate valves in sizes of up to 64 inches and 600 lb pressure class, along with large-size gate valves for general service applications, with sizes reaching up to 68 inches and 600 lb pressure class.

The valve package will support critical process and utility systems within the Riyas NGL Fractionation facility, requiring equipment capable of reliable performance under demanding operating conditions, including cryogenic services and large-diameter applications.

The Spanish group said the contract win further boosts its position as a supplier of highly engineered valve solutions for major oil and gas projects in Saudi Arabia.

The company has an established track record in the design and manufacture of large-size and cryogenic valves for complex energy infrastructure projects, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
