L&T inks EPC framework deal with Petroleum Development Oman

India's top engineering and construction conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced that one of its key subsidiaries - L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore - has signed a six-year engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) framework agreement with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), thus strengthening the long-standing partnership between the two companies.

An EPC business of Larsen & Toubro, it is a specialist in providing integrated lump-sum turnkey solutions across the upstream, midstream and downstream hydrocarbon sectors.

It has delivered projects globally, including refinery expansions, petrochemical complexes, gas processing plants, LNG terminals, fertiliser plants and cross-country pipeline projects.

Under the framework agreement, L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore has been selected as one of four EPC contractors eligible to participate in PDO’s upcoming Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and EPC projects during the six-year agreement period.

This strategic deal will help position L&T among the key contractors supporting PDO’s upcoming project requirements.

The scope of the framework will cover the execution of future oil and gas projects for PDO, with L&T expected to leverage its integrated engineering, procurement and construction capabilities, international project execution expertise, and technology and innovation capabilities to support the development of PDO’s upcoming energy infrastructure.

The agreement will enable L&T to participate in a range of future project opportunities, subject to individual project awards and requirements, covering engineering and FEED activities as well as EPC execution for projects across PDO’s operations.

As part of its commitment to Oman’s In-Country Value (ICV) objectives, L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore will also support the development of local capabilities by creating opportunities for Omani suppliers, subcontractors and service providers and contributing to the continued growth of the country’s local industrial and technical ecosystem.

On the key partnership, S Sathyanarayanan, Senior Vice President & Head – L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore, said the framework agreement marks an important milestone in the company’s long-standing association with Petroleum Development Oman.

"L&T looks forward to supporting PDO’s development plans through safe, innovative and sustainable project delivery while contributing to Oman’s long-term energy and economic growth objectives," remarked Sathyanarayanan.

The latest framework agreement further strengthens L&T’s presence in Oman’s oil and gas sector and provides the company with opportunities to participate in PDO’s future FEED and EPC project pipeline over the next six years, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
