Burckhardt Compression has secured two orders to supply six process gas compressor packages and related services for Petrobras’ Boaventura Energy Complex in Brazil, strengthening its presence in South America’s growing energy market.
The equipment was ordered by engineering, procurement and
construction (EPC) companies working on three projects at the complex in
Itaboraí, Rio de Janeiro.
The compressor packages will support natural gas processing,
as well as new refining and lubricant production facilities.
Formerly known as Comperj, the Boaventura Energy Complex is
a major component of Petrobras’ decarbonisation strategy.
The site combines natural gas processing with planned
initiatives in green hydrogen research and biorefining projects targeting
sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
Burckhardt Compression said the orders highlight its growing
focus on the South American market and reflect collaboration with Petrobras and
its project partners.
The company has also strengthened its regional capabilities
through a recently opened additional service centre in Brazil, supporting
equipment and services for customers across the region.
"South America is a strategic growth market for
Burckhardt Compression, and Brazil is one of the region's most important energy
hubs," said Andreas Brautsch, President Systems Division at Burckhardt
Compression. “Winning this order from Petrobras is a significant success for
our team and a strong validation of our commitment to the region. It
demonstrates the value of being close to our customers, understanding their
needs and supporting them with local expertise backed by global engineering capabilities.”-OGN/TradeArabia News Service
