Muscat International Airport and Salalah Airport have secured nine global awards under the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) programme’s “Customer Experience Awards”, presented by Airports Council International (ACI) during its 2026 Summit in Istanbul, Türkiye.
The awards recognise the airports’ performance in passenger
service and highlight the efforts of Oman Airports employees, staff and
partners in delivering a seamless travel experience.
Muscat International Airport received four awards in the
category for airports handling 5 million or more passengers in the Asia Pacific
and Middle East regions.
The honours included “Most Enjoyable Airport,” “Cleanest
Airport,” “Airport with the Most Dedicated Staff,” and “Best Departure
Airport”.
Salalah Airport secured five awards in the category for
airports handling fewer than 5 million passengers.
It was recognised as “Most Enjoyable Airport,” “Cleanest
Airport,” “Easiest Journey Through Airport,” “Airport with the Most Dedicated
Staff” and “Best Departure Airport”.
Saud bin Nasser Al Hubaishi, Acting CEO of Oman Airports,
said the international recognition demonstrates travellers’ confidence in the
services provided at both airports while strengthening Oman’s position in
aviation service quality and passenger experience.
Al Hubaishi said the awards also reinforce the airports’
role in supporting travel and tourism and improving national and international
air connectivity.
He placed particular importance on the "Airport with
the Most Dedicated Staff " award, saying it directly recognises the
contribution and daily efforts of Oman Airports employees, staff and partners
across the airport community.
The achievement, he added, reflects effective teamwork and
continuous coordination among the various parties operating at the airports,
spanning operations, passenger services and customer interaction points. -TradeArabia News Service
