Several energy sector facilities and installations in Saudi Arabia’s southern region were targeted on September 8, according to an official source at the Ministry of Energy.
The attacks sparked
fires at several locations, temporarily disrupting some operations, while
specialised field teams moved to contain the fires, secure the sites and assess
the damage.
The source said
several citizens and residents sustained injuries of varying severity and are
receiving necessary medical treatment as authorities continue follow-up
operations.
Relevant authorities
are taking all necessary measures to address the consequences of the attacks,
protect facilities and personnel, and maintain operational continuity in line
with approved plans. Officials said efforts remain focused on containing the impact
and ensuring the safety and security of energy infrastructure across the
affected areas. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
