iGA enhances personal record data update service

Bahrain's Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) has enhanced the Personal Record Data Update Service as part of its ongoing efforts to leverage technology and digital integration to simplify procedures and transform them into more proactive and integrated services,  enabling secondary school graduates to update their civil record and identity card data easily.

Under the enhanced service, secondary school graduates data will be updated automatically in just two steps, stated iGA in a statement.

Previously, graduates had to obtain the required graduation certificate which took three working days, followed by an additional working day to update the data in civil records.

With the enhanced eservice, the process has reduced the Service Level Agreement (SLA) by 25%, streamlined the application process from five steps to two, introduced an automated service process, reduced the required approvals by 25%, enhanced the existing systems, and standardized service information published across all channels.

In this occasion, Ali Abdulaziz Janahi, Deputy Chief Executive of eTransformation at the iGA, affirmed that the service enhancement reflects continued efforts towards better integrated and automated government services, making the user journey easier and faster while reducing the time and steps required to access the service.

He noted that direct data integration between government entities is one of the key enablers of service re-engineering and improved efficiency and quality.

The Deputy Chief Executive of eTransformation explained that the service enhancement is part of ongoing efforts to leverage technology and digital integration to simplify procedures and transform them into more proactive and integrated services. This helps reduce requirements from beneficiaries and government entities, enhances the efficiency of government operations, and supports the continued improvement of the digital service experience.

Ibrahim Ali Al Borshid, Assistant Undersecretary for Education at the Ministry of Education, affirmed that the development of the Personal Record Data Update Service reflects the commitment to delivering more integrated and seamless government services. This is achieved through the direct integration of government school graduates data, allowing their educational qualifications to be updated automatically in their records as soon as graduation certificates are approved, thereby simplifying procedures and accelerating the completion of transactions.

The Assistant Undersecretary for Education noted that more than 13,000 graduates benefit from the service annually. He reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to continuously developing its services and leveraging digital integration to meet the aspirations and needs of students and graduates, while enhancing their overall experience with government services.
