Bahrain sees BMW-MINI sales up 17pc

Manama, May 5, 2014

Euro Motors has reported that the year has got off to a good start for the BMW Group importer in Bahrain as it saw a 17 per cent increase in sales for BMW and MINI cars during the first quarter compared to the same period in 2013.

Leading the way for BMW was the 7 Series and the 6 Series Gran Coupe, which combined for a growth of 36.5 per cent, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

Since its launch in 2012, BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe model's continued success is attributed to its unique combination of elegant yet sporty design, the driving performance, exclusive interior ambience, travel comfort and practicality.

"Our continued growth in Bahrain is testament to the strong performance of the brands here in the kingdom," Euro Motors general manager Paul Yates said.

"We started the first quarter with the launch of the all-new BMW 2 Series Coupe and the BMW 4 Series Convertible. Our customers are keen for the latest and best in motoring and we try and deliver on this need.

"We have a lot of exciting plans for the remainder of the year and we are confident in it being a resounding success," he added.

BMW's flagship 7 Series continues to drive growth for the brand across the region making the Middle East the third biggest market worldwide for BMW 7 Series sales and a leader in the luxury sedan segment in the Middle East.

Rounding off the growth in Bahrain was the BMW 5 Series and the BMW X5, which continued to remain among the best-selling models for the BMW Group importer.

During the first quarter, MINI also continued to prove popular in the Bahraini market with the MINI Countryman and the MINI Coupe performing the best. Euro Motors is gearing up to welcome the all-new MINI Hatch, the brand's core model in the seven-member product line-up.

The third generation model boasts a new design, new engines and a vast range of new quality materials and colours.-TradeArabia News Service
