StanChart donates mobile eye care clinic

Standard Chartered Bank Jordan announced the donation of a fully equipped mobile eye care clinic to the Royal Medical Services, in celebration of its 85 years in Jordan.

This mobile clinic will be used by the Royal Medical Services to tackle avoidable blindness in the remote and underprivileged areas across the kingdom.

“We are pleased to partner with Standard Chartered Bank in their great 'Seeing is Believing' initiative, in Jordan. This mobile eye care clinic will support us in tackling and hopefully eliminating avoidable blindness in the underprivileged and remote areas in Jordan,” said the deputy general manager of the Royal Medical Services.

Geoffrey Buchanan, chief executive officer of Standard Chartered Bank Jordan added, “This year Standard Chartered Bank is celebrating 85 years in Jordan and we are very pleased to kick off our celebration activities with this donation, as it supports the needs of the local community through “Seeing is Believing” - the bank’s global initiative to tackle avoidable blindness.”

“Our latest commitment through 'Seeing is Believing' is to invest a further $20 million to develop comprehensive, sustainable eye care for 20 million people in the underprivileged areas of 20 cities across the world,” concluded Buchanan.-TradeArabia News Service
