254 graduate in Dubai Trade CTLP programme

DUBAI, December 7, 2017

Dubai Trade, the single window for cross-border trade and a DP World company, said that it has graduated 254 professionals in the 6th batch of its Certified Trade & Logistics Professional (CTLP) programme.

It has also graduated 21 professionals in the 1st batch of the Certified Customs Expert (CCE) programme, said a statement from the company.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Eng Mahmood Al Bastaki, CEO of Dubai Trade, DP World officials, and graduates’ families, it said.

Mohammed Al Muallem, CEO and managing director of DP World for the UAE region, said: “Empowerment in smart trading is our strategic direction at Dubai Trade. We provide a full range of e-services and smart applications that allow companies to do business anytime, anywhere.”

“These smart tools have become key components of the business cycle. That’s why, our team has developed specialised training programmes that enhance the awareness about the new capabilities of our services in smart trading,” he said.

“Passing these programmes is an important milestone in the career path of professionals and specialists. Companies value these certificates, which open better employment opportunities for graduates,” he added.

Delivering his keynote speech, Al Bastaki congratulated the graduates on the achievement they made by completing the internationally accredited programmes which have equipped them with the necessary knowledge and skills related to trade, customs and logistics.

He added: “We are proud that passing our training programmes has become a target for all logistics professionals, with employees from companies in the UAE and other GCC countries.”

“This has prompted us to design flexible schedules to cater for the growing demand from professionals to attend our programmes,” he said.

“We can confidently say that we have provided a real success story in building a knowledge-based economy where smart services boost business and facilitate trade,” he added.

The ceremony concluded with a speech by one of the graduates Zehir Mahmood, operations and sales manager at Fast Logistics Cargo.

Mahmood thanked Dubai Trade for giving him the chance to take part in its programmes, noting that he acquired all the information required to enter the field of trade and logistics. He expressed his gratitude that he updated his resume and added Dubai Trade training programmes in order to better reinforce his professional qualifications and practical experience.

For the 4th consecutive year, Dubai Trade has been internationally recognised winning the “Training & Education Provider of The Year” 2016 award at the Supply Chain and Transport Awards (SCATA), said a statement.

Dubai Trade has successfully launched Certified Trade & Logistics Professional (CTLP) in 2011 as a comprehensive professional training programme accredited by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai, and covers import and export processes in the region in general and the UAE in particular.

Over 1,600 trainees have graduated from CTLP. The CCE programme was launched in January 2017 to provide comprehensive understanding of the key elements and mechanisms of customs practices in the region.

Candidates wishing to enrol in Dubai Trade’s programmes can browse www.dubaitrade.ae, book a convenient schedule and complete payment via the secured e-Payment gateway "Rosoom", it said.

The programmes are provided every month at Dubai Trade’s training centre equipped with advanced training facilities, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
