Omantel connects 27 villages

Oman Telecommunications Company’s (Omantel) wireless fixed line service now covers more than 27 villages in the Dhofar governorate through more than 8,500 telephone lines, it was reported.

 

Engineer Mohammed bin Ali Bait Ali Issa, the  head of the Dhofar sector at Omantel, was quoted by an Oman Times report as saying the company is keen to connect all Omani rural villages through the wireless fixed line service, better known as the Wireless Local Loop (WLL).

 

It will allow them to use the internet, fax and all other data services.
