Phantom Drophead Coupe launched in Mideast

Abu Dhabi, October 31, 2007

The Phantom Drophead Coupé has been officially launched in the UAE with the first presentations to customers taking place in Abu Dhabi.

The Phantom Drophead Coupé is a two-door, four-seater convertible combining the latest in light-weight engineering technology with the finest hand-crafted materials. It features several unique design options, such as a stainless steel bonnet and teak decking - inspired by the great J-class racing yachts, said an official spokesman.

Each car is individually built by highly skilled craftsmen and women at the company's world headquarters in Goodwood, on the south coast of England. The Phantom Drophead Coupé offers owners an unparalleled convertible experience, combining compelling driveability with exceptional engineering, technology and design.

'With the UAE being the biggest market for Rolls-Royce in the Middle East region, the very positive customer feedback on the initial presentations proves the market success of the new convertible,' said Rolls-Royce regional director for the Middle East Peter Schoppmann.

'The number of forward orders is stretching well into next year. Deliveries to customers continue in Dubai, with the first Phantom Drophead Coupés being currently handed over throughout the UAE,' he added.

Rolls-Royce has recently announced that by the end of September it had retailed worldwide 22 per cent more cars compared to the same period last year with demand for all models increasing.

With the addition of the convertible to the range, the luxury car manufacturer now offers three models including the Phantom and Phantom Extended Wheelbase, comprising coachbuilt and armoured versions.- TradeArabia News Service
