Suzuki is looking to boost the market share of its sport utility vehicles (SUV) and family cars in Saudi Arabia.

Suzuki Saudia, the sole distributor of Suzuki vehicles in Saudi and part of Bamarouf Group, is planning to increase the availability of its sport utility vehicles (SUV) and family cars in line with the anticipated growth in demand for automobiles within the next 10 years. The company will particularly focus on its popular Grand Vitara, XL7, SX4 and Swift models to accommodate both single and family lifestyles.

“The diversity, reliability, supreme performance, and safety of our vehicle lines in addition to being economic perfectly fit the unique demands of Saudi drivers. This flexibility, combined with the Suzuki commitment to product excellence and high quality services, will give us an edge in this emerging domestic growth market,” said the company’s sales manager Ahmed Al Shamaile.

The Grand Vitara offers both off-road and daily driving comfort in addition to safety during safaris and long trips. This small family SUV can easily transport up to five passengers through its three categories. The first comes with an engine of 95 horsepower and a 1.6 litre V4 sporty style, the second is a 126 horsepower and 2 litre V4 engine and for the third is a powerful 185-horse power, 2.7-litre V6 engine. They are available with manual or automatic transmission.

The Grand Vitara features driver- and passenger-side deployable air bags, front and rear head restraints; anti-lock brakes and front fog lights, making it the perfect package for either small families or active, sporty drivers.

The recently upgraded XL7, the large family SUV features a 250 horsepower, 3.6-litre V6 engine capable of smoothly transporting up to seven passengers in luxurious comfort. With a tiptronic or automatic shifting with 5 speeds that allow you to move from manual to automatic.

The new XL7 2008 features an Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) that compares the driver’s intended direction. The Suzuki SX4 is a vehicle combining solid performance and adaptation to various conditions. It is reasonably sporty and offers versatility with the looks of a stylish mini-SUV with a 143 horsepower 2.0-litre, all-aluminum four-cylinder engine mated to a manual or optional automatic transmission. The vehicle is also equipped with a speed-sensitive power steering, electronic stability programme (ESP), traction control, ABS, and double airbags.
