Jaguar wins 2 awards

Dubai, December 18, 2010

Jaguar, the premium automotive manufacturer, claimed two awards at the recent Car Middle East Awards in Dubai.

The Jaguar CX75 was proffered the Design and Technology award whilst the all-new Jaguar XJ won the prize for the Executive Car of the Year, beating the Audi A8 and BMW 5-series.

The XJ also narrowly missed out on the Grand Prix of the evening, the ‘Overall Car of the Year’ award, ceding victory by one point to the Ferrari 458 Italia, a statement said.

Designed as a four-wheel drive range-extended electric two-seater supercar, the CX75 is capable of reaching 330km/hr and sprinting from 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds, it added.

The CX75 is powered by four 145kW (195bhp) electric motors and two state-of-the-art micro gas-turbines.

“The all-new Jaguar XJ has grabbed global attention since its launch earlier this year,” said Robin Colgan, managing director of Jaguar Land Rover Mena.

“This award from one of the most respected publications in the Middle East demonstrates the strong following and appreciation that the XJ enjoys in this region. This is a fantastic way to cap off our 75th year of creating cars that are both blisteringly fast and incredibly beautiful,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
