Porsche makes record car deliveries in Aug

Dubai, October 2, 2011

Porsche Middle East and Africa, said it had delivered a record 924 new vehicles in August, up 43 per cent compared to the same period last year.

The wholly owned subsidiary of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart said August figures represent a number of personal best performances from around the region with Dubai delivering 211 vehicles, Saudi Arabia 110 and South Africa 155.

Since the beginning of 2011, owners across the Middle East and Africa region have taken delivery of 5,388 Porsche cars, representing an increase of 26 per cent over the corresponding period of 2010, said a company statement.

Porsche MEA has seen its best month ever delivery figures in its 12-year history, said its top official.

“What makes these figures particularly impressive is that 2010 was already a record year”, said George Wills, managing director of Porsche Middle East and Africa.

'This success reflects the popularity of the Porsche range, and demonstrates the strength of the brand in the market place,' he observed.

“While August was a record-breaking month, the entire year to date is also proving to be a tremendous success. I know that every person involved in the import and sales of Porsche cars will be determined to improve on the performance achieved so far,” Wills added

According to him, the most popular model in the range continues to be the Cayenne, which increased its share over August by 3 per cent to 58 per cent of all new Porsches delivered.

The new-generation range of high-performance SUVs enjoys great interest from Porsche customers and aficionados alike, he remarked.

The company also saw the sales of its Panamera soar in August with 279 customer deliveries. 'This figure represents the second highest since the launch of the sporty premium sedan in 2009,' Wills added.-TradeArabia News Service
