Xerox launches new multifunction printer

Abu Dhabi, November 23, 2009

Xerox has launched the world’s first high-speed solid ink multifunction printer, which cuts cost of colour printing and reduces waste at an event, held at the Yas Hotel in the Yas Island Abu Dhabi.

The new Xerox ColorQube 9200 Series multifunction printer cuts the cost of colour pages by as much as 62 per cent compared to colour lasers and vastly reduces the environmental impact of office printing, a statement said.

“Our customers are looking for ways to achieve more with less,” Dan Smith, general manager for integrated marketing, Xerox, MEA DMO.

“With ColorQube we are unlocking the benefits of colour by applying our proprietary solid ink technology to lower costs and make operations simpler and greener."

The ColorQube 9200 Series comprises three models that print, scan and copy, with print speeds ranging from 38 to 85 pages per minute (ppm).

They were built from a “clean-sheet” design to achieve the fastest speeds and highest print volumes yet with solid ink technology, which has been used in Xerox desktop printers for more than a decade.

“The ColorQube 9200 Series represents printing technology that is very timely for today’s office,” said Angeles Boyd, group vice president, IDC.  “Going green and saving money while adding colour as needed is what customers are looking for.”

The ColorQube 9200’s cartridge-free design - which uses non-toxic, crayon-like ink sticks that are easy to load - generates 90 per cent less supplies waste than comparable colour laser printers, while also reducing the effects of manufacturing and transportation on the environment, the statement said.

The list price for the ColorQube 9200 Series starts at $23,500, according to the statement. – TradeArabia News Service
