Samsung S5 debuts in Bahrain

Samsung Galaxy S5 went on sale in Bahrain on Thursday midnight at the VIVA store in Bahrain City Centre.
VIVA is the first company in Bahrain to launch the smartphone, which is accompanied by a new hi-tech device, the Gear Fit, the first curved, super Amoled (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) display technology wearable device, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.
The phone's key features include a 16 megapixel camera and "the world's fastest autofocus". It is International Protection Marking (IP67) dust and water resistant, comes with a finger scanner, which provides a secure, biometric screen-locking feature and ultra power saving mode.
Also launched yesterday was the software development kit (SDK) for the new Gear smartwatch, powered by Samsung-made Tizen OS. The SDK is a set of software development tools that allows for the creation of applications.
The Galaxy S5 (LTE) 32GB retails at BD290 ($765), 16GB at BD270 and (3G) at BD260.
Fitness-oriented wearables the Gear Fit, the Samsung Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo retail at BD80, BD120 and BD80 respectively.-TradeArabia News Service
