Mohammad Alawi, the CEO of Saudi-based Red Sea Markets Company, has become the first Arab business figure to join the board of International council for shopping centers (ICSC) since its foundation over 57 years ago.

A non-profit organization that is responsible for shopping centers sector globally, ICSC encompasses 70,000 members around the world.

Alawi is the owner of Red Sea Mall, considered to be the destination for entertainment and shopping in Jeddah. Red Sea Mall presents activities, events, bazars and commercial and educational campaigns throughout the year for its visitors and customers.

The nomination of Alawi (the Owner of Red Sea Mall) was realized during the board meeting of the ICSC in Las Vegas.

ISCS said the decision on Alawi’s appointment has been formed upon a recommendation from the Middle East Council of Shopping Centers, based on the experience he gained in the shopping centers sector and the board’s membership in the Middle East during the last 15 years.

Red Sea Mall is committed towards the Saudi people to boost the citizenship spirit in Saudi youth, boys and girls by allowing them to express their love of this lovely country. The ICSC, found in 1957, is the principle international commercial organization for the shopping centers. The ICSC embodies 70 thousands distinguished members of mall owners, real-estate developers, executives, marketing experts, retailers, wholesalers besides academics and government officials from around the globe in 90 countries.
