Panasonic launches Rio Olympics competition

DUBAI, UAE , June 5, 2016

Electronics giant Panasonic recently launched its #YallaRio campaign which is giving its Middle East consumers the chance to win a trip to the Rio Olympics in Brazil, happening between August 5 and 21.

Between May 15 and June 31, customers who shop for Dh299/OR30/JD75 will enter a raffle draw to win. There will be two winners selected from UAE, one from Oman and one from Jordan for the trip to Rio de Janeiro.

As part of the contest, the company has also launched social media hashtag #YallaRio for fans in the region to share their passion for the Olympic Games on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Anthony Peter, director of corporate communications and operations division at Panasonic marketing Middle East and Africa, said: “We have been associated with Olympics since 1988 as official suppliers of host broadcast equipment. As for every edition of Olympics, we are excited this year also to share the passion of Rio 2016 Olympics with our customers in this region #YallaRio campaign is our way of bringing the thrill of Rio Olympics to the customers in this region through our showroom activities.”

Panasonic is the Official Worldwide Olympic Partner in the audio and visual equipment category and has been contributing to the event with its cutting-edge AV technology for more than a quarter of a century. In Rio 2016, the company signed its partnership with Rio 2016 to become an “Official Ceremony Partner”, providing turn-key visual solutions including full system design, projection mapping and technical operations to the Olympic and Paralympic Games Ceremonies project.

Panasonic will supply around 110 units of its high brightness compact 20,000 lumens projectors (PT-DZ21K2), Broadcast Grade 2-M/E Live Switcher (AV-HS6000 Series), and other visual systems. 

Panasonic will also install its LED video screens and video systems to the Games Competition Venues on the largest scale for any Olympic Games in the company’s history, according to the company.

In addition, to supporting the Rio Olympic Games through its products, services and technical support, Panasonic is preparing for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and has established the Tokyo Olympic Enterprise Division, which will be working towards developing technologies and services to support the operation of the Olympic Games, and to maximize the business opportunities related to the Olympic Games. –TradeArabia News Service
