Six Senses Zighy Bay promotes Diletta Guarinoas GM

DUBAI, January 24, 2024

Six Senses Zighy Bay, the resort located on Oman’s northern Musandam Peninsula, has promoted its resort Manager as the new General Manager – a seasoned hotelier with over 20 years of international experience.

Roman national Diletta Guarino joined the iconic Omani village-inspired, 82-villa resort in 2021 as Resort Manager bringing a harmonious blend of femininity, sensitivity, and determination, and perseverance to her role.

Her recent promotion is a testament to her pivotal role in leading the nearly 500 strong team, and unwavering passion for success, the resort said in a statement.

Diletta has two master’s degrees in ‘Hospitality Management’ and ‘Human Resources Management and Services’ from SIST Management School and IAF School in Rome, that were followed by a career in luxury hotels between London and Rome.

In 2017, she joined Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa as Director of Operations, where she oversaw various departments including front office, housekeeping, spa, F&B, and human resources.

Two years later, she joined as Resort Manager at the award-winning Soneva Fushi in the Maldives. Her dedication and commitment to the development of the property earned her the ‘Inspiring Leaders Award’ amongst the Soneva Resorts.

Diletta has conceived and implemented successful strategies, while fostering innovation and creativity. In her new role, she aims to elevate guests’ experience, a statement said.

Reflecting on her new position, Diletta said: “I’m thrilled to embark on this new role. Six Senses Zighy Bay is an undisputed icon in the industry, and I’ve always admired the brand’s deep commitment to sustainability and authentic travel experiences. Therefore, I’m extremely grateful to be able to continue to be part of this exceptional journey”.

“In the past few months, we have worked hard to design and implement new out-of-the-ordinary guests’ experiences to better showcase this extraordinary destination and we can’t wait to reveal them soon.”

Beyond her professional life, Diletta's concerns extend to saving insects from drowning in the resort’s pools and working for the welfare of animals in the Zighy region. Her family includes Olivia, a rescue dog from her time in Rome, who played a heroic role in preventing a robbery.

Diletta is also pursuing a shoes design course from one of Italy's premier design schools, Arsutoria, with dreams of one day developing her own brand.

While Diletta steps into her new position, Andrew Spearman, the resort’s former General Manager, will be transitioning to a soon-to-be-announced role within Six Senses. – TradeArabia News Service
