Forum Energy Technologies (FET) has secured a contract from long-term client DOF to supply four of its remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), the XLX EVO III.
The agreement, signed in August 2025, schedules deliveries in April, June, July and August 2026, with the first two vehicles set to be mobilised in Singapore.
The order continues a long-standing partnership between the two companies.
Since 2008, DOF has purchased more than 60 ROVs from FET, highlighting the strategic importance of their collaboration in subsea operations.
The XLX EVO III represents FET’s latest ultra-heavy-duty subsea technology. Designed for a wide range of underwater tasks at depths of up to 3,000 metres, the vehicles feature 420 mm diameter thrusters for enhanced performance and an improved buoyancy package capable of supporting over 500 kg of unladen payload.
The system also includes updated pilot chairs, new control consoles and FET’s next-generation ICE Unity control software, which enhances responsiveness and provides comprehensive operational data.
The ROVs will be manufactured at FET’s facility in Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire, UK.
Kevin Taylor, FET’s Vice President Operations – Subsea, said: “This contract reaffirms the strong partnership between DOF and FET, and an order of this scale reflects the confidence DOF places in our subsea technologies. We are excited to see our next generation work class ROV in action next year and look forward to supporting DOF through our customer services team.”
The contract reflects strong momentum in the subsea sector, where FET’s ROVs support industries including energy, defence, telecommunications, mining and research.
Recently, FET also delivered two work-class ROVs to UAE-based CCC (Underwater Engineering), further demonstrating its global subsea presence. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
