The Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) General Command today (March 14) announced that through the unwavering vigilance of its personnel, the BDF's air defence systems continue to successfully counter successive waves of the hostile terrorist Iranian aggression.
Since the onset of hostilities, air defences have intercepted and destroyed 124 ballistic missiles and 203 drones targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain, reported BNA.
The General Command expressed its pride in the exceptional combat readiness and vigilance demonstrated by BDF personnel, and commended their sustained operational effectiveness in defending the Kingdom. The performance of Bahrain's forces continues to inspire confidence that the Kingdom's skies remain secure, it stated.
The General Command further confirmed that specialist field teams are continuing to secure attack sites to ensure the safety of all citizens and residents, reaffirming that its personnel remain vigilant and fully prepared to thwart any aggression targeting the security and stability of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Accordingly, the General Command urged all members of the public to exercise the utmost caution and vigilance, to remain at home and avoid going out except where absolutely necessary, and to refrain from filming or photographing military operations or debris sites and circulating rumours or inaccurate reports.
The General Command further stated that the use of ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles to target civilian areas and private property constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter, most notably the principles of distinction and proportionality, said the BNA report.
These indiscriminate attacks represent a direct threat to regional peace and security, it added.
