Bidgely’s EmPOWER AI 2026 conference will take place May 12–14 in New York City, bringing together utility leaders, researchers, and technology experts to explore the growing role of artificial intelligence in the energy sector.
Hosted by OG&E,
the event features participation from major utilities including Alabama Power,
Eversource, NV Energy, PSEG Long Island, and Xcel Energy.
The conference will
focus on how utilities are transitioning from AI experimentation to full-scale
enterprise deployment.
Bidgely will also showcase its latest
advancements in agentic AI and machine learning, designed to transform smart
meter data into personalised customer engagement at scale.
A key highlight will
be real-world case studies and operational insights from utilities actively
deploying AI, examining challenges, trade-offs, and requirements for scaling
within regulated environments.
Senior leaders from
utilities, technology firms, and energy organisations will share perspectives
on customer engagement, grid modernisation, electrification planning, and
affordability.
Sessions will cover
topics such as vertical AI strategy, customer affordability, intelligent grid
analytics, rate design, load shaping, and AMI-driven real-time insights.
Discussions will also address how AI can improve customer trust, reduce costs,
and support capital efficiency.
Speakers include
executives from OG&E, Xcel Energy, Eversource, AWS, Infosys, Itron, and
Bidgely, among others.
"Hosting EmPOWER AI allows us to
foster the high-level collaboration necessary to navigate a complex energy
transition," said Kirby Brinlee, Director of Customer Experience at
OG&E. "As we shift from the 'what-if' of technology to the 'how-to' of
implementation, sharing operational success stories helps the entire industry
move faster and with greater confidence."
"The utility sector is reaching a
critical inflection point where data silos are no longer sustainable. Breaking
down these barriers requires a deep commitment to cross-industry research and
radical collaboration,” added Gaia Gallotti, Research Director, IDC. “When tech
innovators and utility leaders build on a shared foundation of data, we move
past incremental fixes and begin to engineer the truly resilient infrastructure
the future demands.”
“As grid pressures intensify and evolve, so
has the technology designed to manage them,” said Abhay Gupta, CEO of Bidgely.
“The systems and solutions we showcase have been built alongside utilities,
with results from active deployments proving enterprise-wide AI is both secure
and scalable. EmPOWER AI is where AI vision meets implementation reality.”
