Axens has announced a collaboration with Dragonfly to license Axens’ Vegan HEFA technology for the development of multiple sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production facilities across Africa and the Caribbean.

Under the agreement, Dragonfly will deploy Axens’ proprietary HEFA process technology in modular SAF plants designed to convert renewable feedstocks such as used cooking oil, waste animal fats, and vegetable oils into aviation fuel.

Dragonfly will engineer and supply modular process units aimed at accelerating project deployment and reducing both capital and carbon intensity.

Axens will provide integrated catalysts, adsorbents, proprietary equipment, and full operational support, including training and lifecycle services to ensure efficient and reliable plant performance.

Axens is a global technology licensor specialising in clean fuel, biomass conversion, gas treatment, and carbon capture solutions.

Dragonfly focuses on fast-tracking SAF deployment using scalable refinery models to serve under-supplied markets with locally sourced waste feedstocks, supporting lower-carbon fuel production at regional scale. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
