Saudi Arabia, Singapore strengthen air navigation partnership

Saudi Air Navigation Services (SANS) and NERA have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) to strengthen cooperation in air navigation services, aviation technology, innovation and sustainability.

The agreement was formalised during an official visit to Singapore by SANS CEO Abdulaziz Al-Zaid, NERA CEO Khaled Attia, and CAAS Director-General Han Kok Juan.

It establishes a strategic framework for closer collaboration between the three parties in developing and modernising air traffic management systems and improving operational efficiency across key international routes.

The partnership is intended to enhance knowledge exchange and support joint initiatives in areas including advanced air mobility, unmanned aircraft traffic management and interoperable navigation technologies.

It also aims to improve coordination between air navigation systems in the Middle East and Asia, strengthening one of the world’s busiest aviation corridors.

The MoU comes as global passenger and air cargo demand is expected to grow, increasing the need for more efficient and integrated airspace management.

It also supports Saudi Arabia’s broader Aviation Strategy and Vision 2030 goals to position the Kingdom as a leading global aviation hub.

In addition, the agreement includes cooperation on innovation labs, human capital development, organisational transformation and sustainability initiatives.

The partners will share best practices and explore new technologies to improve safety, efficiency and environmental performance in the aviation sector. -TradeArabia News Service
