Expro secures major UK North Sea plug, abandonment contract

Expro has secured a multi-million-pound contract from a major UK operator to provide subsea safety systems for plug and abandonment (P&A) operations in the UK North Sea.

Under the agreement, Expro will supply its 7-3/8” large-bore Subsea Test Tree Assembly safety system for a campaign covering six firm wells, with a further six wells included as options.

The technology provides dual-barrier protection and disconnect capability, supporting safe and efficient well abandonment while reducing operational risks and potential downtime.

The contract strengthens Expro’s position as a key supplier of subsea well-access and safety systems for mature offshore wells in the UK North Sea.

Carole Paley, Expro’s UK Managing Director said:“Expro has in depth knowledge of North Sea wells and has performed numerous operations on many of these wells over their lifecycle. This deep-rooted expertise supported by local resources enables the delivery of meaningful cost efficiencies. We look forward to working closely with our client on this project as they progress this important campaign over the coming year.” -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
