Aviation technology company Forthcode has launched ANiX, an AI intelligence layer designed specifically for aviation, connecting passenger intent, airline knowledge, onboard systems, crew workflows and commerce in a single environment.
The platform uses an offline-first architecture, allowing
selected AI capabilities to operate at cruising altitude when connectivity is
intermittent, costly or unavailable.
Through ANiX-enabled IFE systems, passengers can interact
conversationally with airline content and services, including asking about
vegan meals, finding child-friendly films, browsing duty-free products or
receiving destination recommendations.
Using airline-approved information, ANiX can provide
responses across entertainment, dining, retail and destination services.
Where integrated with other systems, passenger requests can
also be relayed to crew applications, onboard inventory, catering and commerce
platforms, enabling airlines to act on passenger intent rather than simply
answer queries.
The demonstration builds on Forthcode’s work through the Emirates Aviation X Lab ecosystem and collaborations with Thales and Collins Aerospace, an RTX business.
Forthcode said the cabin application is the first
step towards a broader AI layer spanning passenger experience, crew operations,
commerce and airline systems.
Ajith
Balakumar, CEO of Forthcode, said: “AI in aviation needs to do much
more than answer questions. The real opportunity is connecting passenger intent
with the systems, knowledge and people capable of acting on it. We want to move
from AI that talks to AI that understands context and enables action, including
in an environment where continuous connectivity cannot be taken for granted.” -TradeArabia News Service
