The International Energy Forum (IEF) has welcomed Hitachi Energy to its Industry Advisory Council (IAC), expanding the council’s expertise in electricity systems, grid infrastructure and technologies supporting secure, affordable and sustainable energy.
The announcement was made on the sidelines of the 17th IEF
Ministerial Meeting (IEF17), where energy ministers and industry leaders
gathered to discuss energy security, market stability, investment and energy
transitions.
The IAC provides a platform for industry leaders to share
practical insights on energy markets, technology and investment with the IEF
Secretariat and member countries, helping inform ministerial discussions with
industry experience.
Hitachi Energy joins the council as governments and
businesses seek to modernise and expand electricity networks to meet rising
demand, improve resilience and integrate new sources of power generation.
Drawing on its expertise in power grids, electrification and
digital innovation, the company is expected to contribute technical knowledge
and strategic perspectives to the council’s work.
The addition strengthens the IEF’s engagement with industry
at a time when investment in electricity infrastructure and advanced
technologies is increasingly important to supporting economic growth and the
transition towards more sustainable energy systems.
Jassim Alshirawi, IEF Secretary General, said: "We are
delighted to welcome Hitachi Energy to the IEF Industry Advisory Council. As
electricity demand grows and energy systems become increasingly interconnected,
resilient grid infrastructure and technological innovation will be
indispensable to energy security and economic development. Hitachi Energy's
global experience and engineering leadership will strengthen our dialogue
between governments and industry as we work to advance practical solutions for
secure, reliable, affordable and increasingly sustainable energy systems."
Andreas Schierenbeck CEO, Hitachi Energy, said: "Addressing
the world's growing energy needs requires closer collaboration between
governments and industry, supported by long-term investment, innovation, and
modern electricity infrastructure. We are honoured to join the International
Energy Forum's Industry Advisory Council and look forward to contributing with
our leading technologies and experience in building sustainable, flexible and
resilient power systems while supporting the IEF’s mission to foster
constructive international energy dialogue." -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
