BWH Hotels has announced a major brand transformation, bringing more than 4,000 hotels across 18 brands under the WorldHotels masterbrand and a unified loyalty programme, as the hospitality group seeks to strengthen global recognition, improve digital engagement and expand growth opportunities for hotel owners.
The move aims to simplify how travellers discover and book
properties across the group’s luxury, boutique, upscale, extended-stay and
economy segments, while preserving the individual identities and independent
character of its hotels.
"We have a hotel for virtually every travel occasion,
but many travelers only know a portion of our portfolio," said Larry
Cuculic, President and Chief Executive Officer, WorldHotels. "WorldHotels
gives us a clearer way to tell our story. By connecting our brands, loyalty
programme and digital capabilities under one masterbrand, we're making it
easier for travelers to understand who we are today, while enabling our
hoteliers to better compete on a global scale and preserving the independence
and individuality of our 4,000 hotels."
The strategy follows consumer research and guest feedback
indicating that many travellers are familiar with only part of the group’s
hotel offerings. By connecting its brands, loyalty programme and digital
capabilities under one masterbrand, WorldHotels aims to improve portfolio
visibility and create a more seamless booking experience.
Unified loyalty programme targets 70 million members
A central element of the transformation is WorldHotels
Rewards, a unified loyalty programme combining Best Western Rewards and
WorldHotels Rewards, representing approximately 70 million members.
The programme will introduce three streamlined membership
tiers while retaining existing benefits, including status matching, member
rates and points that never expire. Members will also retain the value of their
existing points and gain additional opportunities to earn rewards across the
expanded portfolio.
Further details of WorldHotels Rewards are scheduled to be
announced on November 16, 2026.
"WorldHotels Rewards was designed with our guests at
the heart of every decision. Through extensive consumer research and member
feedback, we learned travelers want a loyalty programme that feels intuitive
and transparent, that recognises them wherever they travel," said Joelle
Park, Chief Marketing Officer, WorldHotels. "By bringing our loyalty
programme together under WorldHotels Rewards, we're making it easier for guests
to discover the full breadth of our portfolio, find the right hotel for every
journey and feel welcomed wherever they stay."
Digital investment to boost discovery and direct bookings
WorldHotels has also invested in its digital infrastructure,
launching a new website and redesigned mobile application to support the
transformation.
At the centre of the platform is a proprietary hotel
discovery system developed using more than 10,000 hours of insights gathered
from hotel teams worldwide. The technology is intended to help travellers
explore properties, neighbourhoods and local experiences, while simplifying
booking management and loyalty activity.
The platform is also expected to improve direct-booking
opportunities and increase the visibility of individual properties, connecting
the local knowledge of independent hoteliers with the reach of a global
hospitality network.
Although the group’s masterbrand is changing, individual
hotel identities, signage and established property flags will remain unchanged.
WorldHotels Collection expands independent luxury
offering
The group’s upscale and luxury properties will be brought
together under WorldHotels Collection, a platform designed to help independent
hotels access global distribution, technology and commercial opportunities
while maintaining their distinct identities.
The collection comprises six categories: WorldHotels Luxury,
WorldHotels Elite, WorldHotels Distinctive, WorldHotels Crafted, WorldHotels
Backdrop and WorldHotels Residences.
Two areas of expansion include WorldHotels Residences, which
combines private homeownership with luxury hospitality services, and
WorldHotels Backdrop, which focuses on distinctive destinations offering
immersive natural settings and elevated accommodation.
Ron Pohl, President of WorldHotels Collection, said the
platform would help independent properties grow internationally without
sacrificing the tailored experiences that distinguish them.
WorldHotels operates across more than 100 countries, combining global distribution and loyalty infrastructure with locally driven hospitality. The transformation positions the group to strengthen brand awareness, expand its reach and give travellers a more consistent way to access its diverse portfolio while preserving the individuality of its properties. -TradeArabia News Service
