Expro has secured a Tubular Running Services (TRS) contract with Lithium de France to support the development of new geothermal and direct lithium extraction (DLE) wells in France’s Alsace region. 

The project, led by Arverne, is one of Europe’s most active well campaigns and highlights Expro’s growing role in the energy transition.

DLE is an emerging technology that enables more efficient and environmentally friendly lithium production—an essential material for electric vehicle batteries and energy storage. 

Expro’s involvement supports responsible resource development and strengthens regional low-carbon supply chains.

The company brings integrated expertise across well services, testing, and water management, creating efficiencies critical for DLE projects. 

Its geothermal experience further enhances safe, high-quality delivery throughout the well lifecycle.

The scale of this campaign reflects a move toward commercial-level geothermal heat and lithium production, marking an important step as Europe expands renewable energy and critical mineral output.

Through this partnership, Expro is helping advance a market central to Europe’s clean energy goals.
