Saudi Arabia ranks first globally in the World Economic Forum's Road Connectivity Index, reflecting years of investment that have expanded the kingdom's road network to more than 73,000 km and improved connectivity across its cities and governorates.

The network strengthens links between cities and governorates, serves road users, and facilitates travel.

The Roads General Authority said the road sector is a key pillar and vital enabler for many other sectors, especially tourism. 

The kingdom’s road network, which extends more than 73,000 km, has undergone remarkable development, enabling the kingdom to rank first globally in the Road Connectivity Index, said the World Economic Forum in its report.

The Al Baha Region has an advanced road network extending over 1,777 km, forming a vital artery that strengthens the region’s position as one of the Kingdom’s leading mountain tourism destinations.

The network is part of the authority’s efforts to facilitate access for visitors and tourists to the region’s dense forests, natural landmarks, and heritage villages, enabling them to explore the region's natural beauty and rich history, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
