Aleph Hospitality secures 1,330 keys across six countries

Aleph Hospitality has secured 1,330 keys across nine properties in six countries so far this year, as the Middle East and Africa-focused hotel management company continues to expand its portfolio and targets managing 100 hotels by the end of 2029.

The company currently manages more than 50 hotels across 38 cities in 24 countries, representing more than 7,000 keys.

Its latest expansion includes new agreements in Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Tanzania and Ivory Coast, as well as the takeover of an existing property in Dubai.

In Nigeria, Aleph signed management agreements with the Akwa Ibom State Government covering the Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort, Arise Palm Resort and Ibom International Hotel and Convention Centre, adding 483 keys.

The company also signed the 200-key Crowne Plaza Multan in Pakistan, its first property in the country, scheduled to open in 2028.

In Dubai, Aleph took over management of the 279-key Mövenpick Grand Al Bustan, its third property for West F5 Investments.

Other additions include the 101-key Best Western Premier Royal Golf View in Kigali, the 118-key five-star Wimby Resort in Tanzania, and two Onomo properties in Ivory Coast: the 96-key Onomo Angre in Abidjan and the 53-key Onomo Allure Koa Lodge.

The latest agreements build on a 26-hotel deal signed with African Hotel Development in 2025.

Aleph attributed its growth to entering markets ahead of wider operator interest, a flexible management approach and stronger regional decision-making.

The company also highlighted a growing trend in Africa toward owners combining international hotel franchise agreements with independent operators managing day-to-day operations.

Neil George, Partner and Co-CEO of Aleph Hospitality, said: “More than 1,300 keys in nine months is the visible part. Underneath it is a management model which adjusts to owners’ assets, whether it is a repositioning, a transition or a pre-opening, and regional teams who know the market inside out. We have also seen a structural shift in African hotel contracting, and our forthcoming report with W Hospitality Group quantifies how franchised projects in the African pipeline have risen from 40 in 2020 to 146 this year.”

Aleph has also expanded its leadership team. Abdellah Essonni joined as Regional Vice President, North Africa, while Rob Kucera was appointed Regional Vice President, East & South Africa. At its Dubai headquarters, Aline Barhouche became Chief HR Officer and Marc Matar joined as Vice President, Food & Beverage. Estelle Chambost was promoted to Vice President, Learning & Development. -TradeArabia News Service
