The acquisition will establish TEP as the renewable-energy
pillar of AESG’s Sustainability practice, expanding the company’s capabilities
in renewable-energy strategy, solar power, battery storage, microgrids,
distributed energy and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure.
The deal will also strengthen AESG’s service offering in the
Middle East, where demand for technically robust and commercially viable energy
systems is growing alongside large-scale infrastructure development and the
expansion of renewable power generation.
TEP’s expertise spans the full project lifecycle, from
energy strategy and techno-economic modelling to specification, procurement and
project delivery.
These capabilities will complement AESG’s existing services
in sustainability, environmental consultancy, building services, electrical
infrastructure, cost management and commissioning.
“Our approach to growth is focused on building and acquiring
specialist capabilities that strengthen AESG and create meaningful value for
our clients globally. The Energy Project is exactly that. TEP has built an
exceptional reputation in Australia, a market that has become a global
benchmark for the integration of renewable generation, storage and distributed
energy. Bringing that expertise into AESG strengthens our ability to support
clients across the full energy-project lifecycle and is particularly relevant
in the Middle East, where the scale and complexity of infrastructure
development are creating growing demand for energy systems that are technically
robust, commercially viable and resilient over the long term,” said Saeed Al
Abbar, CEO of AESG.
Headquartered in South Australia, TEP has advised
corporations, utilities, airports, government entities and institutions on
renewable and distributed-energy projects.
Its portfolio includes solar installations at Adelaide and
Sydney airports, solar and battery infrastructure for water utilities, EV
charging infrastructure for Linfox, and commercial energy programmes for
Bunnings and Stockland.
TEP co-founder Patrick Greene will continue in a leadership
role within the business. He brings three decades of experience across
renewable energy, technology, solar power, battery storage, microgrids, virtual
power plants, energy policy and project delivery.
“Joining AESG is a natural next step for The Energy Project.
We share a strong commitment to technical excellence, independent advice and
practical client outcomes. AESG’s international platform and complementary
expertise will allow us to take the experience we have developed in Australia
into markets such as the Middle East and beyond, while creating new
opportunities for our team and clients,” Greene said.
Leadership and international expansion
Mather will lead AESG’s continued development in Australia
while supporting collaboration between the Australian business, the Middle East
and the company’s wider international network.
He brings more than four decades of engineering consultancy
experience, including senior leadership roles and a track record of building,
acquiring and integrating consulting businesses across multiple markets.
“TEP brings deep technical expertise, an outstanding track
record and an independent, commercially focused approach to energy consultancy.
AESG brings complementary multidisciplinary capability, international reach and
the scale to take that expertise into new markets. My focus will be on bringing
those strengths together, continuing to build the Australian business and
creating a genuinely two-way flow of expertise and opportunity between
Australia and AESG’s international network,” Mather said.
The acquisition and appointment form part of AESG’s strategy
to combine organic growth with selective investments in specialist capabilities
and experienced industry leadership, expanding its international reach and
strengthening its renewable-energy offering. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
