Red Sea Global will expand its hospitality offering at The Red Sea destination with the opening of a new luxury wellness resort on Shura Island, Miraval The Red Sea, as the destination prepares for heightened demand during the Eid Al-Adha travel period.
The developer confirmed that the resort will open on May 15, becoming the brand’s first property outside the US.
The adults-only, all-inclusive retreat adds
180 rooms, suites and villas to the destination’s growing accommodation
portfolio.
Designed around immersive wellbeing, the
resort will offer personalised itineraries centred on mindfulness, yoga,
meditation, creative expression and nutrition-led cuisine inspired by local
ingredients.
At its core is the 3,000-square-metre Life
in Balance Spa, the largest on Shura Island, featuring 39 treatment rooms and a
network of wellness facilities including the Serenity Centre, Body Mindfulness Centre,
Miraval Challenge Course and Culinary Kitchen.
The opening forms part of Red Sea Global’s
broader regenerative tourism strategy, which targets a 30% net conservation
gain by 2040.
The resort will operate entirely on
renewable energy and incorporates advanced water and waste management systems
aimed at reducing environmental impact while supporting biodiversity.
Red Sea International Airport provides
access to the island, with guests reaching Shura Island via a 25–30-minute
electric vehicle transfer.
To
accommodate increased Eid demand, 32 additional flights have been scheduled
into the airport, alongside curated dining, cultural and entertainment
programming across the destination.
The launch comes as further developments
continue on Shura Island, where Four Seasons Resort and Residences Red Sea is
also preparing to open.
The Red Sea destination currently has 11
operational hotels, with six more expected in the coming months.
“Welcoming Miraval Resorts & Spas, a
globally respected wellness brand, to the destination reflects ongoing
confidence in Saudi Arabia’s tourism offering. Demand during Ramadan and
forward bookings for Eid Al-Adha point to strong momentum for the destination.
Whether to celebrate Eid or simply enjoy a luxury getaway, we look forward to
welcoming guests from across the Kingdom and around the world to experience our
Saudi Hafawah,” said John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global. -TradeArabia News Service
